SAN BERNARDINO - A cross-section of Southern California crowded downtown on Saturday, with amnesty advocates and anti-illegal immigration activists braving the noon heat to rally for their views.

Police estimated that 300 people lined the steps of City Hall to fight for legalization of undocumented immigrants, while 50 to 100 demonstrators chanted anti-illegal immigration slogans across the street. Most likely an over-compensated amount of people - but where was ICE while this was going on??????? We should be demanding to know!

The events remained peaceful despite back-and-forth yelling and accusations of racism flying from both sides.

Beneath the raucous exterior were personal stories of hardship and sacrifice.Yeah, by suffering AMERICANS!!!!

There was Raymundo Cazares, 27, a car wash worker who bused in from Coachella Valley to support undocumented people like himself. He couldn't return to Sonora, Mexico, for his father's funeral because he didn't want to risk crossing the border again.Aw! What a fuckin sob story!! Boo-fuckin-hoo!

"I came here to work, seeking a better life. ... There's more opportunities here than in Mexico," he said in Spanish.

Present, too, was Richard Thatcher, 53, of Huntington Beach, a roofer of 38 years who said he's seen pay in his industry decline because illegal immigrants are willing to drudge long hours for less money. Americans can't get paid what they're worth and therefor become seen as "disposable" by employers - so not only can you not get paid, you cant GET a job!

Besides fighting for amnesty, members of the larger rally were asking for an end to both the Iraq war and violence on local streets.
So let me get this straight - illegal mexicans are now "demanding" to stay in this Country even though their very existence here is illegal but theyare also "demanding" an end to the Iraq war?? And YOU of all people are "demanding" an end to violence on local streets - when YOU are 75 percent of the crime in this Country?? Are fucking kidding us???? HAH HAH!!!!Go back to mexico and make demands!

Armando Navarro, a coordinator for the National Alliance for Human Rights campaign, a sponsor of the pro-amnesty gathering, estimated at least 1,000 attended the assembly. Go to mexico and demand Rights - not here! We have our own People to care for!

He said he hoped San Bernardino's event would help kick-start a nationwide season of demonstrations for immigration reform and withdrawal from Iraq. Yes, we do too - so now we know where ICE needs to go to collect all of you!

The goal is to ramp up enough energy to turn out droves of supporters in Washington, D.C., in early May, Navarro said. He added that he is networked with organizers in places such as Chicago and Los Angeles who are working toward the same objective. Thanks for letting us know where you'll be!!

Speakers at the pro-amnesty event included Navarro and Rep. Joe Baca, D-Rialto. Democrats just keep selling out the American People don't they.......thats ok, the People are coming together despite your Democrat greed for power!

The rally was preceded by a march that took demonstrators to City Hall from La Placita Park off Mount Vernon Avenue.

As the line of activists snaked through the city, San Bernardino was out to greet them. Patrons and workers at auto shops, restaurants and other establishments stood outside, some giving their blessings, others shaking their heads. Well apparently from this lame ass story of a lie, we are to deduce that all of America is in areement that all the illegals get even more than they have gotten already....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! No mas!!! NO MAS!!!!

Drivers on the 215 Freeway honked in support as the human train crossed the 5th Street bridge waving signs that read "Ning n ser humano es ilegal" - no human being is illegal. No, what that really says is "We think we are above American law now as we always have". You can't go to another country and claim the laws don't apply to you. You are no better than the citizens of that country. So go home and protest!!

"Qu queremos?" leaders asked. "What do we want?"

"Justicia!" marchers replied. "Justice."

"When do we want it?" leaders asked.

"Now!"

Actually - I think this is the chant of the AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!

And I love the way the writer of this article uses the opportunity to further advance the agenda of the illegals - using American press to aid and advance illegal activity - and of course reporting "un-biased" news as well........RIIIGHT!!!!!

Minutes earlier, Jay Nu ez, who grew up in the area and co-owns Los Faroles restaurant on 5th Street, roasted under the sun in a blue apron, snapping photos of the marchers. He is of Latino descent and said his grandfather came to the U.S. legally.

Of illegal immigrants, he said, "They have no respect for our state."
Amen, brother! This man is correct!

The dichotomy of views was on display as the activists converged on City Hall, where they were welcomed by opposition protestors.

"Ignore the idiots," one march leader commanded through a megaphone.

Cazares traversed the Arizona desert on his way here about seven years ago.

He sends money to his mother in Mexico, but says he wants to stay in California with his wife and 3-year-old son - both citizens. He said life isn't easy for people like him, the "sin papeles," the "people without papers." One landlord said he couldn't live with his wife.
Aw, it rips my fuckin heart out that American tax payers most likely PAY for his wife and child (probably one of many that she has too!) and he has to rough it and obey American laws! Oh, this is a terrible story!!!.......not really folks!

Cazares said recent federal raids targeting undocumented workers have created fear in the immigrant community. He said it's time to tell Congress to support undocumented laborers who contribute to U.S. society. Which is zero because American citizens are ALREADY here to contribute to American society!

In contrast, Thatcher said though he believes the process of coming to the U.S. should be simplified, people who entered illegally should not be rewarded with amnesty for breaking laws. And you Mr. Thatcher get a tiny sentence at the end of the story to tell your American side of the situation - in an American media. Sorry Charley!!

Thatcher and Cazares stood on opposite sides of the road, separated by a row of police. Around each of them waved a sea of American flags.
